Revelation

Now that I'm halfway through my intern year and ob/gyn is a far distant memory, I can think of babies in a positive way. Especially now that there are Jon & Kate Plus 8 marathons on TLC, scutmonkey just gave birth to a baby boy and my very own niece is approaching her first birthday!

Also, since I am currently on family medicine and I have the luxury of starting work at 10 AM, now I have the time to ponder things other other than the necessities of life (what book should I read next? vs. when can i pee? when can i eat? when can i sleep?). Which brought me to wonder, if I were ever to successfully be impregnated given the potential dessicated state of my ovaries, would I want to know the sex of the baby before delivery? I think I would... I'd want to know... depends how my partner would feel... but then I realized, I won't really have a choice unless I choose not to look at the ultrasound. Assuming I will complete my radiology residency with competency, I'd guess I'd be able to distinguish a taco from a peen on an ultrasound... and I wouldn't have a choice about it.

So that's that. One con of pursuing radiology?

Can't wait until this year is over.

So this means I've been half a year out west now and I have to say in the summer Vancouver is amazing but in the winter I've realized I'd rather be out east. At least we don't deny the existence of snow. At least we deal with snow with shovels and salt.

Anyways they say the flowers bloom here in February... I wait with bated breath.

Happy 2009 to all!

In my medical opinion, the best 2010 Olympic mascot is: Quatchi! I heart Quatchi.
