Big news!!

I have two announcements to make - firstly, I became an auntie on February 1st, 2008 to beautiful baby Natalie!!

She emerged from the womb one month early to make it just in time for the year of the pig! She is the cutest little piggy and a perfect mix between my sister and brother-in-law. I love her to bits and pieces, because she's so smart - the moment my sister went on maternity leave she decided to come out and see the world! Also, beginning July 1, 2008, this will be my new home:

Vancouver!!! The land of no snow, belugas, sea otters and melt-in-your-mouth sushi!! I matched to the radiology program there and I am excited for the next five years of my life. I know most people get fit in Vancouver but I think I might gain some pounds gorging on seafood all day.

I can't wait to return to Stanley Park and the Vancouver Aquarium and have lots and lots of visitors!

Meanwhile, life goes on after match day. I have one more clerkship block to complete, which is psychiatry. It's not a bad way to end at all except that I'm beginning to think I'm a little crazy... today a patient was asked by my psychiatrist preceptor to name the association between two words. For example, when he said apple and orange, the answer was "fruit". When he said table and chair, the answer was "furniture". Easy enough. Then the patient was asked to explain what "don't judge a book by its cover meant"... sure I know what that phrase means. But then it got harder... the patient was asked to explain the quote "a stitch is time is better than nine". I thought to myself &@#! What does that mean? Then another was given - "a bird in one hand is better than two in the bush" &*!^&!*^&(*!%^!??!?!??! I must be crazy, or brought up in an immigrant household (methinks the latter).
