PUFFINS!

Tomorrow I fly to St. John's, Newfoundland for my second radiology interview! Exciting times! I've been to St. John's once before back in 2006 and I really really wanted to see puffins and whales but it wasn't the right time (September). Now is not the right time either! Dangit!! The puffin eludes me!
I received seven interviews across the country and while Saskatchewan and Alberta completely shut me out (I lived in Saskatoon for four whole months one summer, FOUR whole months, what more do they want from me!?!?) I guess I'll be saving some money because who would want to live in Alberta anyway!?!?!? (No offence to my beautiful family members and charming classmates who were born and raised there - I walked into pepper spray once in the so-called Deadmonton "subway" so I get to be a little bitter, no?)
At any rate I am counting my lucky stars for every interview invite I received and it has been interesting to see how my rank order list in my head has changed in my head - and also in Mike's head. I think Mike secretly wants to be like chef Michael Smith and live on the east coast with a big dog and cook all day and be by the sea and live in... isolation. That wouldn't be a bad idea, in fact, in sounds pretty good to me. I mean, just look at this:

So cute!! So beautiful! Mike wants some kind of dog called a Bernese Mountain Dog or whatever but I think we should honour his Polish roots and get a PON!

My first interview was last week at my home school Queen's and I had never been more nervous in my life. My colon was working overtime, seriously, I felt like I had the Norwalk virus all over again, minus the barfing part. Queen's is known to have the most friendly, stress-free interviews and indeed I had a grand 'ole time! Except, I don't think I was very smooth. Check this out:
RESIDENT: Hello Betty, my name is David*, it's very nice to meet you (extends hand).
BETTY (flubbering): Oh yes, hello, nice to meet you, my name is Betty.
(I shake hand, thinking D'OH! He just said my name...)

1 Comments:
Shut out by Saskatoon? Outrageous! Don't they realize how many grasshoppers and tree worms you had to endure? Not to mention OVERDRIVE?
I'm sure DB is behind this travesty somehow.
Congrats on the interviews you got though... I'm sure it will work out amazingly.
