I need Tylenol 3

The wisdom teeth extraction went pretty well considering, although today I am beginning to swell and bruise up, but I was able to talk right afterwards! I was put under IV sedation (still have to figure out what the drug was, it was good) and I felt so relaxed, just like when I was in Mombasa (pics below!) I had my eyes closed the whole procedure and there was no pain, I just felt a lot of poking and prodding. They asked me if I wanted to save my two top wisdom teeth and I said sure. They are so huge! When my sister and brother-in-law came to visit me post-op I showed them my teeth right away, much to their chagrin. I was contemplating taking a picture of them and posting them here because I'm so proud, but they are kinda gross.
Unfortunately I was prescribed Tylenol 2 instead of Tylenol 3, which I would much rather prefer today, because I am now feeling a bit more pain. At any rate, what I've gone through is nothing compared to the dental situation in other countries. My dad related a story when he had to get a tooth extracted in Vietnam when he was a teenager and he bled for days and there was no anesthesia! Also, at the Matangwe clinic there was a patient who came in with a severe infection after a tooth extraction and unfortunately passed away despite aggressive antibiotic treatment. It's easy to forget that everything we have in North America, we take for granted.
And here, as promised, my last installment of pictures from my African trip.

Mombasa and the Masai Mara, Kenya

After Tanzania, Mike and I arrive at the Kenyan coastal city of Mombasa. Our first stop is Fort Jesus, which is situated right beside Prince Charles' summer get-away digs.

m6

Instead of paying to tour the Fort, we meet a very charismatic local who takes us around instead. When he learned I was from Toronto, he immediately said he had visited before, specifically the Jane and Finch area, which cracked me up!

Another picture taken at Fort Jesus

Mike and I stay at Bamburi Beach in Mombasa, which is absolutely breathtaking. It was the most relaxing place I've ever been to and I highly recommend everyone book their next vacation here!

Next stop, we fly into the Masai Mara

These lions won't be lyin' for long...

m12

Much to our delight, they get up to do the do... at first he is gentle and cuddly...

...but at the moment of truth, he growls like a maniac. Mike and I crack up because the whole thing lasted about 10 seconds... we shot video if it and at the end all you can hear Mike say is "what?!? that's it??"

However, the true highlight for us was spotting a family of elephants on our last game drive. We were so happy!

The family was just too cute!

Beautiful Pictures!! I enjoy seeing photos of Kenya so much, and the beach shots are just breathtaking! I didn't do any safaris in Kenya, instead I did one in Uganda and Tanzania, but next time I'm in Kenya I'm definitely gonna hit everything that I missed the 1st time around, such as Mombasa. Seeing lions mate, you are SO lucky!
