Great news
I have some crazy news... my friends Nancy and Daren got engaged (in Mexico!!)
CONGRATULATIONS NANCY AND DAREN!
They're one of those couples where you would actually want to go to their wedding and really feel like true love exists, you know what I mean?

On another note, I've been busily preparing for all the immunizations I need for Kenya. I need everything under the sun such as Hep A, typhoid fever, meningitis, all my boosters, yellow fever, etc (and a big Visa credit limit).
Yesterday I got my combination Hep A/Typhoid fever and it went into my shoulder intramuscularly. When I walked out of the clinic I bumped into one of my classmates and they were like, "oh yah, typhoid fever KILLS" and my nurse was like, take it easy with your arm because it's gonna hurt later and internally, stupid me, I laughed at them and thought, no way is some lame needle gonna cripple me like that, but guess what, I am pseudo-crippled!! I can't sleep in certain positions at night, I can't pull my pants up and it is just the biggest ordeal to put clothes on!
This totally reminds me when there were fleas in my apartment and when I came down with Norwalk virus. You forget what sick people have to go through until you go through it yourself.

So this weekend I'll be interviewing potential med hopefuls who applied to Queen's so I am quite excited about that. Although, it does put a damper on my studying time with only twenty-odd days left until exams. Then the following weekend is the annual meeting of the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) which is being held in Toronto!! They are totally encouraging medical students to go and there will be special presentations and lunches for us so I have to go. Interventional radiology is so cool... there's even a sub-sub-specialty called "interventional oncology" where you can deliver therapy straight to the cancer site. It's gonna be awesome but there goes another weekend... my final exam outcome is looking bleak.

Lastly, I have decided I have to move out of my one-bedroom apartment. It is a sweet place but it is expensive and since next year I'll be off on clerkship and I want to get a car, I need to offset costs by moving in with roommates. I've found a potentially really sweet place with in-house laundry and a dishwasher, a gorgeous room with a large closet (and awesome roommates!) so I'm going to sit on it for a few days before I make a final decision.
It'll be sad to let my current place go, but I'm looking forward to the change.
