A new beginning

After much contemplation I finally decided to start up a blog... mostly because ten years from now, I would love to remember what my years in medical school were like - especially since the first year has been a crazy, tumultuous, eye-opening and self-reflective one. I have to say though, this blog has been largely inspired by the one set up by the brilliant creator of Scutmonkey, whose life I've followed in the last month and I've had one a many laughs and chuckles reading her thoughts and daily musings.
Anyways I must head out for the weekly Thursday night-med student gathering (I'm supposed to be at Rob's house at 9:30 PM - thank goodness the boys live literally 30 seconds away) but before I leave I have to mention a book I found on amazon.ca while trying in desperation to find my next good read. It's called Banana boys = Heung jiu jei written by a Chinese-Canadian author. Behold the following review:

"Ah the plight of the Canadian Born Chinese (CBC) male who lives between two worlds. He envies the Chinese FOBs (Fresh Off the Boat) who all seem to have a lot of money and the latest fashions. He envies Asian women of any birth right who seem to only date white men. Can he get no respect?"

This book sounds hilarious!
